Put Me In Coach . . .

Liam was excited to play with the baseball & glove that Grandpop Murray got him for Christmas. (notice the cute sweatband on his wrist - he got mad when I took it off of him)
We call this his 'Game Face'. . .
Anyone wanna play catch?

Peekaboo

At dinner tonight Liam entertained himself (and us) with a game of Peek-A-Boo

for some reason the video on here has a lot of annoying screeching in the background - turn the volume all the way down before you play it

Merry Christmas to All . . .

Here are a few of the pictures from Liam's first Christmas. He was a happy and entertaining guy the entire day and night. He received lots of gifts and even behaved at church.

At swim practice on Sunday we were giving out T-shirts to the swimmers and Liam decided he wanted to be in the box. It was the perfect size for him and he makes a great gift!

In Trouble with the Law . . .

We had an interesting afternoon here on Saturday. I was running around getting ready to leave for a swim meet in South Jersey and Casey and Liam were in the basement playing. While I'm running around (not exactly fully clothed) I here banging at the front door. So I dash into the basement and tell Casey he has to get the door. So turns out it's the police. They received a 911 hang-up call from our house. . . . Yes - Liam somehow turned on the cordless phone and hit the numbers 9-1-1 in order. I'm hiding in the basement and searching for clothes to throw on because the cop needs to see that everyone is alright. Fortunately, he left after seeing Liam and I was able to wait it out downstairs in my snowpants (all I could find) . . . We're still working on waving, but we apparently have calling the police under control.

Back in the Pool

My school had a late opening today and I decided to take the day off of school so Liam came to practice at 7:45am. The girls swam hard, so their reward (and Liam's reward for being so good) was to play with Liam in the pool. I forgot my camera and had to take the photos on my cell phone, so they are kind of blurry - sorry . . .

This is the only time he looked up, he was too interested in the water. . . I think the girls had more fun than he did
Hopefully all of this female attention he's been growing up with doesn't go to his head!

Mmmm. . . bread . . .

We went to TRCC for dinner last night with Grandpa and Grandma Scallon and Liam's Aunt Jessie and cousins . . . he loves when we let him "chew" on bread.
(still no teeth)

Gift from St. Nicholas

Liam got a package in the mail to celebrate St. Nicholas day. It was a Christmas book from Great Aunt Helen. He loved ripping the paper wrapping off (a prelude to Christmas morning). . .
he's becoming quite good at turning pages himself . . .
showing off his present . . .
Thank you Aunt Helen!

Failed attempts at a Christmas card & tree decorating

The other night my sister and I tried to take a photo of Liam for a Christmas card. Posing a dog and an infant and shooting with a camera phone is not the best combination. Here are the attempts . . .

Liam was helpful at decorating the tree. . .
. . . and was very proud of his work

Our Little Swimmer

Friday afternoon I had swim practice for my high school team so I decided to go early and take Liam in the pool. He hasn't been in since the summer so I felt guilty. He still loves the water. We played around for about half an hour and he even went under and came up smiling.
Then Daddy had practice for East after my MD practice. He thought Liam could use some shoulder work so he got him on the versa-trainer

Leftovers (photos, not food) . . .

I finally figured how to get photos off of my new cell. This is from Monday in the grocery store. It was so chaotic and Liam was getting tired so I carried him while a pushed the cart and he eventually fell asleep. Since he sits up now, I don't bring his baby seat in. I had to improvise by using his jacket as a pillow. No one noticed him sleeping there until I got to the checkout where he continued sleeping and didn't wake up until I picked him up to put him in the car.
We've been working on the sippy cup. He LOVES water. It's crazy. He gets so excited when we give him water you'd think it was candy. It's kind of strange.
I have a video of him on my cell crawling and then sitting up and clapping for himself, but can't figure how to get that off the phone yet. . . ahh technology!

Happy Thanksgiving

It's Liam's first Thanksgiving and he was a busy guy. First we went to Grandmom and Grandpop Murray's house for appetizers with the Murray clan. My cousins Paige and Caitlin kept Liam's attention with all that beautiful long hair for him to grab.
Then it was off to Grandma and Grandpa Scallon's house where Grandma Scallon found the "magic" ball from Pottery Barn (THANKS PAM!) which motivated Liam to crawl forward all across the kitchen floor. It wasn't so much crawling as it was an army crawl - pulling his entire body across the floor using just his arms.
now we just have to keep the ball away from the dog
What Liam is thankful for:
~ Family of course - Liam (and his parents) are so lucky to have both sets of grandparents so close plus his Aunt Jaclyn and Uncle Adam who would do anything for him and his other relatives who don't live nearby but love him a lot too
~ Murray - his constant source of entertainment who lets him pull his tail and ears which Liam rewards by letting Murray lick the baby food remains off his cheeks
~Furniture and household objects that are only 24" high or less which he can pull himself up on and then smile like it's the greatest thing in the entire world
~*~ and we are thankful for Liam - couldn't imagine life without him~*~

Busy Busy Busy

Liam tries to pull himself up on every piece of furniture these days. Here he is at the coffee table . . . Afterschool today we went to see Santa . . .
and then we visited Great Grandmom & Aunt Helen at Harrogate and had lunch in the dining room where everyone came over to talk to him. . . and then we stopped at the pool to pick up the team suits for the Mon Don team and to say hi to Daddy. The pool is Liam's 3rd home (his 2nd home is my parents house) . . .

Hair?

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated the blog. Things have been pretty crazy around here. High school swim season started on the 17th, so with both of us teaching and coaching we're running around non-stop.
Liam has discovered that he has hair on his head. Hopefully he'll give my hair a break from his death grip. Here he is at breakfast this morning with Grandmom Murray . . .
. . . and again at lunch time . . .
sometimes he grabs his own cheeks too - adorable

Getting closer to crawling . . .

Liam has been crawling backwards for a little while now, and even pulling himself up to stand, but going forward isn't happening yet. . . He does a pretty good plank though . .

Laundry Time

I was bringing up laundry from downstairs to fold, and Liam didn't want to sit in his crib when I went down to get it . . . so I brought him with me and carried him up the stairs in the laundry basket. He thought it was the greatest thing in the world . . .
. . . he even helped empty the laundry basket

7 Months Old!

Liam is 7 months old already. We can hardly believe it. He's almost crawling and hasn't met a food he hasn't liked! It's getting hard to get him to sit still for a photo.

Halloween Parade

Liam and I went through the hats and gloves to get ready for the parade last night. . .

He found one he liked . . .
Then it was off to the Halloween Parade with Grandpop Murray, Grandma Scallon, Aunt Cate, Rachel, Maggie, and of course Mom and Dad . . .
Liam fell asleep through the first half. . .
. . . but woke up at the end to see Grandmom Murray on the Library float
off to TRCC for dinner tonight . . . Have a great weekend!

World Series Champs

We were at my parents' house watching the World Series Parade for the PHILLIES . . . I got into the spirit and took some photos of Liam celebrating their first World Series Victory in both of our lifetimes . . .
I keep telling him how BIG of a deal this is, but I don't think he understand . . .yet.What a trooper.
