Fun at the Park

Today was such a beautiful day and I was done a little early at work, that Grandmom suggested we go to the park in Beachwood and play and have lunch. It was a great idea and Liam had a blast. Here he is with Grandmom . . .
. . . and he loved going head first down the tunnel slide
. . .he's laughing so hard while he's sliding. He only fell in the dirt about 3 times and he never cries when he falls, he just gets completely dirty.
We're very sad that today is the last day of summer :(

New Clothes!

Today after I picked Liam up from school we went for a bike ride to Grandma Scallon's.
When we got there Grandma had a surprise for Liam. She went on a shopping spree to Janie and Jack and Liam got some cool new duds! Here he is checking out the new clothes when we got home . . .
. . .it's like he's wondering "is this my size?" - Monkey sweater! So cute!
. . . . I think he likes it!
. . . Yay! Pants!
So handsome buddy, but it's a little warm for a sweater today :)

Thanks Grandma!

Football Season

Liam woke up from his nap today just in time for the second half of the Eagles came. . . and they won! He's pretty fast these days so I decided to get him Brian Westbrook's jersey since he's a running back :)

Much Better than Daycare

On Thursday, my school schedule was a little wacky with it being the first real week of school, so I was at work in the morning for 4 hours instead of the afternoon. Liam wouldn't be able to go to daycare, but my friend and neighbor Angela was able to watch him. . . .Liam had a great time and didn't cry at all! Much different experience than daycare has been. I even got photographs of his morning:
hugging and sharing with Jenna (his future girlfriend) . . .
. . . playing with Landon (3 years old) and Jenna
We were so lucky that he was able to stay at their house and I know he's going to hate daycare even more on Tuesday after all the fun he had yesterday.
Have a great weekend!

Climber

The other night we walked over to Grandma & Grandpa Scallon's for pizza night, which meant Liam had to go in the stroller. Casey and I were getting organized and while we were in the other room, Liam decided he was going to put himself into the stroller. Casey walked into the family room where the stroller was and said "Liam is in the stroller."

So when we returned home that night I asked him to show me how he did it:

I took the video on my phone so the sound is all messed up, but you can still watch our little acrobat in action

7 Hours on the Beach!

Yesterday was a beautiful day and we definitely took advantage of it. Liam, me, Grandmom Murray, and Aunt Jac hit Ortley Beach to soak up some sun and to visit Daddy and Uncle Adam (I didn't realize how much Liam would miss him once he left for college in Philly, but he wanted to be near Adam the whole time we were at the beach). . .

Daddy was pretty busy working, but took some time out to pose for a family photo. Liam kept busy doing lots of things . . .
. . . like playing peek-a-boo behind Grandmom's chair. . .
. . .building a sandcastle and mounting his football on top . . .

. . . getting knocked around by the waves - which helped him take a 2 hour nap under the umbrella! . . .
. . . and just being a kid . . .
did I mention we were there for 7 hours and he was happy the entire time? Here are some videos from the day . . .

He loves when you spin him around even on dryland, so the water landing was a special treat.

Here he is running in and out of the ocean. He likes when a wave knocks him down. Everytime I am at the beach with him at least 2 people will say "He has no fear, huh?" . . . and "He doesn't ever sit, does he?" . . . both very true

Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

First Day of School

Tuesday was Liam's first day of school so of course I had to take the traditional front porch picture before I dropped him off . . .
How quickly this face of joy turned to tears and fear when I brought him to school and said good-bye. He did okay, and he did much better on Thursday. He even naps with the other kids on little cots that are 3 inches off the ground. I never thought he'd nap on something that didn't have bars to keep him contained. It was super cute to see him "group napping" when we went to pick him up.
I also learned that I was the only parent who made their child lunch - apparently it's cooler to eat the school lunch they provide. I don't want him to be the "uncool" kid in class so he won't be bringing his lunch from home anymore :(
