Surfing???

I brought Liam's boogie board with us to the beach today, but it was high tide when we got there which means no waves. He kept saying that he wanted to go "surfing", but we told him he couldn't take his board in the ocean. He came up with an alternative all on his own . . .
Then he stood up and said "I'm surfing" . . . .
. . . almost kiddo

Potty Time

Liam's been doing great with using the potty. We've been at it a week and it's going well. Each sticker is for each time he made it to the potty to do his thing. The paper on top was my first attempt at finding something quick to begin the positive reinforcement. Eventually, I got myself organized and found a Diego chart to put the stickers on. He's been staying dry through the night - most nights, and through his naps. We'll see how the rest of summer goes, hopefully come September the diapers will be long gone.

After breakfast, he found a marker and was drawing. He brought this to me and said "Mommy, I drew my surfboard!" - I can't believe how much it actually looks like a surfboard . . .
Here are some photos of him in Nana & Pop Pops pool from Sunday night
He loves to swim. . .

Outdoor Movie Night

Last night Grandma and Grandpa Scallon took us all to the Country Club for an outdoor movie on the 1st hole of the golf course. It was a lot of fun and Liam got to watch Shrek for the first time - it took me awhile to realize on the way home when he was talking about "yogurt" he was actually saying "ogre". Here is a rare moment of Liam not running, rolling, or spinning around like a maniac . . .

Daddy and Liam enjoying the show . . .
Liam before the movie started - obviously very excited . . .
You can see the giant inflatable screen in the distance & Liam hydrating for another round of running and rolling around in the grass . . .
We had a great time - except when we left I got a flat tire :(
But Daddy saved the day and changed the tire in no time so we got home before 11
And Liam still didn't sleep through the night.
We hope they do another movie night this summer!!!

This Beach Day is Going to be Hard To Beat

Friday was a beautiful day at the beach. Low tide all day, breeze off the water, parking spot right up front, warm ocean temp, and Liam took a 2 hour nap under the umbrella. The only thing missing was that the lifeguards weren't working so we didn't get to see Daddy.

Here's Liam fueling up on chocolate milk . . .

Aunt Jac is in Key West so she didn't get to come with us, we called her on our way home and the first thing Liam said to her was "I no throw any sand". . . we have been working on his beach etiquette and he was very proud to tell her that he was so well behaved. Part of me worries I am giving him a guilt issue since he had this on his mind without anyone bringing it up.

Liam with his oldest cousins Owen and Eamon . . .

We spent a lot of time in the water and Liam loves the waves

Heading back again on Sunday

Beautiful Beach Day

It was gorgeous out this morning so we headed off to the beach. From the minute Liam woke up today he kept asking me "Mom, wanna go to the beach?", and I kept saying "yes, we are going", but I guess he didn't think I was getting ready fast enough because he kept asking. We made it there by 10 and he was very happy. Liam is much more self sufficient on the beach this summer compared to last year - he can actually carry stuff this year, and walk well in the sand without falling - works out great for me. First we filled up his baby pool with water . . .
. . .and Nana braved the chilly water to keep Liam happy and let me relax (he wanted to play in the waves the entire time we were there) . . .
. . . and then he cooled off Aunt Jaclyn . . .
After the beach we went to Nana & Pop Pops for lunch and a nap and then he got to play in Aunt Jac's new playroom at her river house.
After dinner we met Nana & Pop Pop at Blue Claws baseball stadium to relax in the luxury box - Liam even met Buster the mascot before we left. (and I forgot my camera)
and the BEST news of the day . . . when we got home Liam went to the bathroom on the potty for the 2nd day in a row!!!

Pizza Fridays at Grandma & Grandpa's

We love Fridays! It's our weekly tradition to go to Grandma & Grandpa Scallon's house for pizza, and since it's so nice out now - we get to ride our bikes. I have been a big fan of my baby bike seat in the front, but now Liam tries to steer and is almost just as strong as me which makes for an interesting journey. On the way home tonight he put his feet up on the handlebars.
Beach day tomorrow!

Founder's Day

On Sunday, Aunt Jac took Liam to Founder's Day so that I could finish painting my basement. He had much more fun than I did - playing in the bounce house . . .
indulging in some Dora the Explorer ice cream . . .
. . . and sharing with Gus

Museum Fun

Friday after my morning at school, I took Liam to Philly and we played at the Please Touch Museum. They had a new exhibit . . . the ABC games that had all kinds of obstacles and physical activities - right up Liam's alley.
He climbed all the way up to the top and over the other side.

And how cute is the baby treadmill and spin bike. . .

Saturady night we got to have Casey's sister Cate and her family over for a BBQ along with Grandma & Grandpa Scallon. . . Liam loves his cousin Rachel and they have a great time playing. Can't wait for them to come visit this summer.

And good news is our pool is ready to swim in!!!!

More Beach

Monday Liam and I had a fun time out back playing in the sprinkler and in his blow-up pool.
Our pool gets opened tomorrow - we'll see if I can get it clear by July (I'm not the greatest at pool chemical balancing - didn't do great in High School Chemistry either) and then Liam will really get to have fun.
After his nap, we went to Ortley to visit Daddy. We got there around 3pm and avoided the crowd and craziness.
Liam didn't want to wear his hat, but he had no problem taking Daddy's
In our usual spot behind the stand on 4th Avenue. . . we'll be here all summer so come visit
