Beach Baby

These are a few pictures from last weekend that I finally got from my sister. He loved laying in his little sun dome (Thanks Pam!). We can't wait to go back.
He was awake most of the time and just laid in the cabana looking around quietly. . .
Later that night we walked to dinner at Casey's parent's house to celebrate their 40th Anniversary and Liam fell right to sleep in Grandma Scallon's arms. . . Happy Summer (Almost) !

Doctor's Appointment and other news. . .

This morning Liam had a doctor's appointment. He had to get 2 shots. He was okay with the first one, but the second one put him over the edge. He only screamed for a few seconds and stopped once I picked him up, but it was hard to watch. He weighed in at 12 pounds and is now 23 inches tall. (95th percentile for both) He is a big boy. Carrying him around is a workout in itself.

Liam also got a new car. I had to say a sad goodbye to my convertible the other night. I will miss it dearly, but our new CRV is cute too! It wouldn't have been very motherly to drive my new baby around in a 2-door convertible. At least I didn't have to get a minivan.
Here is a short video clip of Liam sleeping. He is snoring. You have to listen carefully, and yes his shirt says "Future Mr. Right".

Baseball Game

Yesterday was the Monsignor Donovan Alumni Baseball game. Casey coached the current Varsity/JV team who played the Alumni. The alumni included my Dad, my brother Adam, and my cousin Greg. Liam seems to enjoy being at the field (good sign). We hung out in the dugout and a lot of my former students were there. It was a beautiful day for a baseball game.

Naked Baby Afternoon

It was back to work for Casey today after the gorgeous weekend. Baseball is finally over so he is home afterschool now. Today we went for a run with the whole family. Murray was thrilled that he got to come along. He usually cries and sits at the window when I take Liam in the stroller. Since it's so warm out today we let him chill out sans clothes.

He was so exhausted, you would have thought that he used his legs on the run. It didn't take long for him to pass out.

Smile Video - you have to wait for it

This morning I thought I would try again to catch Liam smiling on camera. You have to wait for a whole minute but he does.

Enjoying the Backyard

Today was beautiful out so we thought we'd break out the pack n' play for the first time.

Murray was happy to be outside all day and kept checking on Liam whenever he made a noise.

It didn't take long for Liam to fall asleep in the fresh air (you almost can't see him behind the netting)

The pool was opened today and it was pretty scary looking . . . but Murray is ready to dive in once we let him.

At least the other half of the yard looks good.

Mom's 6 Week Check--up

I had my 6 week check-up today in Brielle so my Mom and Liam came with. First we stopped in Brick to pick-up Liam's birth certificate (he's official), then we went to the doctor's office and Dr. Welt was happy to see Liam. I got the OK to swim and jog again (we didn't tell him that we have already been doing this) and then we went to lunch.

When we got home Liam was super smiley . . . I am not fast enough to catch it on film. . . Here are the best attempts.

I think he's onto the camera now. He'll be doing something photo worthy and as soon as I pick up the camera he stops. We're off for a jog since it is such a beautiful day out today.

Happy Birthday Grandmom

My Mom's birthday was yesterday. We went over for dinner and birthday cake. Liam was very excited to celebrate with his Grandmom. Tomorrow we are off to Monsignor Donovan to visit my classes and the teachers.

I made Casey get on the scale and weigh Liam today . . . 12 pounds! I can't believe it. We don't go to the doctor's until the 29th, so we'll see if he's even more then. He jogged 2 1/2 miles this morning, but I doubt he burned many calories :)

Date Night

Casey and I went to Zane's wedding last night. Casey was a groomsman and I met up with him at the reception. This was our first time away from Liam for more than one hour. Aunt Jaclyn was a great babysitter and we had a fun night out.

Liam's First Date

I took Liam for a walk today at the Reservoir in Brick. We met my friend Patti there with her 2 week old daughter Brynn. Liam looks like a sumo wrestler next to her. They enjoyed the fresh air and are looking forward to a second date :)

Family Photo

The Family (Murray wouldn't cooperate)
Daddy and Liam

Happy Mother's Day

After sleeping through the entire church service, Liam went to Blue Claws stadium to watch Dad and Grandpop Murray's baseball team play.

He slept through most of that too.

Then we finished the day with a wonderful dinner at Grandma & Grandpa Scallon's house.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Nap Time with Aunt Jaclyn

Aunt Jaclyn came over today and Liam took a nap with her. How adorable are they?!? It gave me a chance to get some things done around the house. Happy Saturday.

Mommy's Little Medicine Ball

So I've been trying to take advantage of Exercise TV onDemand and Liam likes to get in on the action too. I use him like a 10 pound medicine ball. He usually likes it, although you can't exactly tell by his facial expression. We're getting ready for the beach!

Liam's One Month Photo Shoot

He looked so cute I couldn't resist. I figure we'll take his photo with the teddy bear each month and see how small the bear starts to look :) He almost fits in the jeans . . . and how great is the bib?

I can't get enough of him

The Day Before Liam's Arrival

This is the final pre-baby photo that was taken the day before my water broke. We went to Chili's with my family and my mother was warning me about my water possibly breaking and I told her that only 10% of women's water actually breaks before labor. Well, Mom really does know best because the next night my water broke.

Doggie Kisses

Murray has been so good with the baby. When Liam makes noise Murray will run to us as if to say "why aren't you picking him up". Yesterday he wanted to show Liam just how much he loves him with a big wet kiss. Liam doesn't seem to appreciate it as much.

Liam's First Bath

At 2 weeks Liam's umbilical cord fell off which meant - TIME FOR A REAL BATH! no more of this sponge bath nonsense. He LOVED being in the water. A boy after my own heart. The only fussing took place when we took him out of the bath. This face is how he looked the entire time. Completely relaxed.
