On the Move

Liam has been taking two steps on his own for awhile now, but today he's getting much more courageous and taking five steps at a time. He does it without warning so you have to be ready to catch him . . . He is very proud of himself when he starts moving. If he didn't laugh so hard while walking he'd probably make it a lot farther.

He has also gotten good at going down steps. He can scale a whole flight going up in less than a minute, but going down is a little more difficult. He does the two steps from the family room to the kitchen like a pro.

This one's just cute

All Dressed Up . . .

Tonight we went to dinner at TRCC with Grandpa and Grandma Scallon. That means we get to get all decked out. Here are my guys looking extra handsome.

Liam entertained everyone there including Grandma & Grandpa, the waitresses and the other members.

Smiling with Mom. Tommorow we are going to Grandmom and Grandpop Murray's to celebrate Aunt Jac's birthday. Liam has quite the social calendar.

Back to the Duck Pond

It was warmer out today so Aunt Jaclyn came over and we went for a run up to the pond to feed the ducks. . . I like running there because I have an excuse to stop and rest :) while Liam can enjoy seeing the ducks and trying to throw bread for them . . .

This time he was more interested in eating the bread himself than sharing with the ducks
Happy Friday!

Skippin' School

I took off from school today and took Liam to get photos taken for his 1st Birthday. Then we met up with Uncle Adam at Applebees for lunch. He got Liam a balloon on the way out which is his new favorite toy.

Early Morning Fun

My mom took this cute photo yesterday morning while she was taking care of Liam.
I am amazed at how gentle and patient Murray is with him. For those of you who know Murray, you know that's not his style.

Happy 21st Birthday Uncle Adam

My brother turned 21 today! We went to dinner to celebrate.
If you cover Adam's facial hair, you can see the family resemblence between Adam and Liam.
Liam is very excited for Uncle Adam's Birthday
Cheers!

Merry-Go-Round

Today I had to drive up to Freehold to pick up my Bridesmaid dress for my best friend's wedding so I decided to make a day of it and go to the Freehold Mall too. I ended up running into my neighbor and her kids there so we walked around and shopped with them. We also went on the Merry-Go-Round with them. It was Liam's first time ever on a ride of any type. He looks a little nervous in this photo, but once we got moving he was smiling and having a great time. Then he slept the entire drive home in the rain which made me one happy Mama! Hope everyone had a great week! Pizza at Grandma & Grandpa Scallon's tomorrow night!

Ducks, Baseball, and Childcare . . . or not

Today was a beautiful day and Liam and I are taking full advantage of Mommy not having to coach swimming until summer. We went for a jog up to a pond and fed the ducks. Then we went by Daddy's baseball scrimmage for a few innings. After that I attempted to take a step class at the Y while Liam was in the child care room. This lasted for 20 minutes and then they came and got me from the class because he was crying. They tried to reassure me that he was doing great until a little boy started crying because he didn't want to leave and that's when Liam started getting upset. So we'll try again next week and maybe he'll make it 30 minutes. No school tomorrow!

Here is Liam in his official St. Patrick's Day T-shirt the day of the Seaside Parade
And here he is today . . . sporting the green

Best Buds . . .

Liam finds Murray hysterical. It's the cutest thing. Murray doesn't even have to do anything and Liam just looks at him and cracks up.
And Murray puts up with Liam climbing all over him and pulling his tail. . .
. . . he even teaches Liam some valuable lessons like how to feed yourself . . .

my mom did not want me to post this photo, but honestly, it's hysterical - so please no mean comments, this is the only time he's done it (that we've seen :)

Feeding Himself = Bathtime

I decided to let Liam feed himself some banana yogurt while I put away the groceries. He was pretty good at getting the spoon in his mouth. The food, however, was mostly on his body. . . . . . needless to say I couldn't wait to get him in the tub. He loves the bath, but last night he was extra energetic. The video camera wasn't working so I had to use my phone to capture the fun . . .

Birthday Dinner for Dad!

Since Casey's Birthday was Tuesday we didn't really get to celebrate until Saturday night. Casey's parents took us to Hemingways for his birthday dinner. He even had some cake!

It's getting progessively more difficult to get Liam to pose for photos. Here's the best attempt with Grandma and Grandpa Scallon . . .
. . . and one of the family

11 Months Old

Liam is 11 months old today. Unfortunately, Casey and I had the state swim meet down in South Jersey all day and couldn't really celebrate with him. Aunt Jaclyn was with him from 6am to 4pm so she was in charge of the picture with the bear.
After many escape attempts . . .
. . . she was able to get him to sit still long enough for his photo
Good Job Aunt Jac!

Dr. Seuss

With our second snow day in a row on Tuesday, Liam needed to get out of the house. We headed over to Babies R Us for Dr. Seuss's Birthday Celebration. Liam was one of 6 kids who had storytime . . .

. . . then he colored a picture of the Cat in the Hat (and colored on Brynn's picture). . .. . . and had a nice lunch of crayons (just kidding - they're non-toxic anyway). . .
how big does he look sitting in a chair all by himself!?!
. . . and concked out the second I got him in the car

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today is Casey's Birthday! The lucky guy got a snow day and was able to sleep in and enjoy his day.
Here the guys are in their pajamas. Liam loves walking around the house holding onto Casey's one hand, but this morning his socks were extra slippery so he wouldn't let go of his pants.
Since it's still cold and yucky outside we are ordering in Surf Taco for Casey's birthday dinner! Back to school tomorrow :(

Let it Snow

After his nap, Liam got to go outside and play in the snow. His boots (which are a little big) are courtesy of his 9 year old cousin Eamon!
He was very excited to be out in the snow, but since it wasn't great snow for making a snowman, and he can't walk so I couldn't really just sit him in the snow and try to make one anyway, our trip outside lasted about 15 minutes.

Murray joined in the fun and stole Liam's mitten right off his hand.
And the guys posed for a cute photo in the snow. Just when you think Liam is being adorable and sweet . . .
. . . BAM! Snowball to the face.

Snow . . .and Lots of it!

Good News: the camera has been found! Also good news: NO SCHOOL TODAY!
Casey got an early start on shoveling the driveway. Liam was very excited to see the snow and to see Dad in the snow.
We might take him outside later to play in it for a little while . . .
. . . for now just looking at it seems intriguing enough
