Please Touch Museum - Again

On Friday, Liam and I went to one of our favorite places - the Please Touch Museum in Philly. I had to go to a swim meet overnight all weekend so I wanted to spend some quality time with him before I left. We had a wonderful time and Liam is always so happy and well behaved when we are there.
They had a new exhibit there about Rainforests. There was a great play area where you climb up through a tree and through these nets, I thought Liam would be too small to make it through the levels, but he proved me wrong. . .
. . . He made it to the top and then down the leaf slide . . .
and then did it about 5 more times
Then we headed to Center City Philly to visit Uncle Adam and go out to a late lunch.
It was beautiful out so we walked around the city a bit and Liam got to see a bunch of fire trucks . . .
Then we had lunch and Liam and Adam did their comedy routine

Getting Taller

Liam is big enough to sit at the table without even a booster seat.
Here he is the other morning eating his favorite breakfast - oatmeal mixed with strawberry yogurt.

If someone took a photo of me right after I woke up, I don't think I'd be as cool with it as Liam seems. :)

Happy Birthday Daddy

Today is Daddy's Birthday and we had lots of fun with him. Liam and Mommy surprised Daddy at his school with lunch and balloons. Then after dinner we sang happy birthday and Liam could not take his eyes off the cake . . .
He tries to sing Happy Birthday, but it sounds more like:
"Birthday to You, Birthday to You, Daddy"
too cute . . .

Play Time with Daddy

Casey's swim season ended and baseball doesn't start until Friday, so afterschool he's gotten to hang out with his little man. Liam loves hiding under blankets, but he isn't so great at the hiding part. When you say "who's under that blanket?" he answers "iam" (not great at L's yet)
I can't get enough of his laugh!

Lunch Date

Having another Snow Day on Friday means we get to go out to lunch!
Daddy's birthday is coming up on Wednesday so we celebrated a little early. Liam was very well behaved and ate all of his food and even tried some salsa. We let him try pretty much anything he wants - doesn't mean he's going to love it. The salsa was quite a new taste for him.
Then he pretended to drink out of his toy container
Here's a better view of his haircut. I try to do the mohawk as much as possible - I wouldn't send him to school with it, but I think it's cute!

Mommy the Barber

Liam's hair was getting long and since we had an early dismissal from school due to the snow, I thought it would be a great opportunity to attempt giving this toddler a trim.

Here is the before . . .

. . . and the best after shot he would let me take . . .

I was definitely nervous using the clippers, but I felt like I got the hang of it and didn't butcher his hair too badly. Practice makes perfect - and saves lots of moola.

Best Friends

Liam is allergic to Murray - not sure if I had posted this info yet, but he went to the allergist a few weeks ago for a scratch test and it was positive for dogs, feathers, and cockroaches (weird, but apparently very common). It's been impossible to keep the two of them apart, so we've taken to other methods of minimizing Liam's exposure to the dog dandur. We've contemplated finding a new home for Murr Murr, but this afternoon we were playing and Liam gave him a hug and said "Best Friends". How could we take away his best friend? Here's hoping he can adjust so his best friend can stay around for a long time.
